Our love is like a box of crayons
Full of colorful feelings and passions beyond
When we're together hand in hand
It's like we're coloring this world so grand
You color my heart in a special hue, my dear

Commentary
This poem compares love to a box of crayons, turning a childhood image into a picture of colour, play and shared creativity. Its short lines and simple rhymes keep the tone bright and innocent.
The speaker opens with a single comparison: “Our love is like a box of crayons,” “Full of colorful feelings and passions beyond.” Just as a crayon box holds many shades, the couple’s love holds many kinds of feeling.
When they are together, “hand in hand,” it is as if they are “coloring this world so grand.” The last line turns personal: “You color my heart in a special hue, my dear,” crediting the beloved with giving the speaker’s feelings their colour.
