Letter of the Heart

Preview edition — Poet of Blossom is still in progress. The poem is as it appears in the video; the commentary is a working draft.

My dear, with a quill I write this letter to thee

Woven with words of love, my beating heart longs you to see

And holds a sweet token to emotions unspoken

Through the dangers I faced, your smile saw me truly through

This Val, my heart is yours and always will be

Commentary

This short poem is a love letter set in five lines, a quiet vow made on paper. Its old-fashioned image of writing with a quill gives a tender, timeless tone to a simple and sincere declaration.

The speaker writes to a beloved with a quill, shaping a letter “woven with words of love” that a beating heart longs for the beloved to see. The letter is more than words on a page: it holds “a sweet token to emotions unspoken,” carrying feelings that have not yet been said aloud.

The speaker then gives thanks, recalling that “Through the dangers I faced, your smile saw me truly through.” The beloved’s warmth is credited with carrying the speaker through hardship. The poem closes on a vow, “This Val, my heart is yours and always will be,” a Valentine promise of lasting devotion.
