Chills of Zeal

Preview edition — Poet of Uplift is still in progress. The poem is as it appears in the video; the commentary is a working draft.

The clock struck twelve in chilling winter air,
Bringing change and fresh starts, for wishes fair.

As the old year slips away into memory,
A new dawn breaks with hope that's yet to be.

My mind wanders to paths that lie ahead,
Uncharted and daring, leaving “what ifs” unsaid.

This fresh page now blank before me lies,
A chance to write a tale of brave exploits.

The chills of zeal runs through my mind and soul,
Ambition stirs as new goals had been made to extoll.

What roads, will I travel in this coming year?
What mountains, will I climb and what ocean holds so dear?

As resolutions form in my heart and thought,
The future waits to see what changes wrought.

New year brings what more may come to pass,
And to mark the end of what once was.

The chimes of a new beginning always peaked in early days in the light,
And the first morning spreads its rays, both bold and bright.

With gems of good stories untold,
and adventures waiting in winds both brisk and bold.

As winter's chill begins to wane,
Cool sunshine gave way to a gentle rain.

The chills of zeal, they stir within
A whisper of change upon the wind.

The earth, once frozen, now starts to thaw,
As nature's rhythm sets the new year's law.

Birdsong fills the air in a joyful tune.
As flowers bloom beneath the sun and moon.

So let us shed our winter coat,
And welcome the springtime's mote.

With hearts so light and spirits high,
We'll dance into the new year's sky.

As cool breeze of zeal blows on our way,
we embrace the dawn of a brand-new day.
With every step and fuel, there's a new story to unfurl
